Our Team
Winemaking
A small and passionate team is led by Chief Winemaker Luke Whittle. Luke’s winemaking career began in New Zealand, working part time in a West Auckland winery in 2007 while completing a degree in Wine Science at the University of Auckland. After several vintages in New Zealand Luke made the move to Central Victoria to work with the Balgownie Estate in 2011.
Having gained experience in vintage winemaking in Canada and Germany, Luke was drawn to Tasmania in 2015 to pursue an ever-growing passion for cool climate wines. Luke returned in 2016 and was appointed as Senior winemaker with Pipers Brook Vineyard. In 2019 Luke was appointed Chief Winemaker and oversees the portfolio of wines for Kreglinger Wine Estates”.
Viticulture
Viticulturist and vineyard manager Kym Ayliffe has been involved in the wine industry for most of his working life managing vineyards in various South Australian wine regions and spending a little time in NSW.
Having an underlying desire to become involved in the blossoming Tasmanian wine industry and the elegant cool climate wines emerging from the state, he recently took up the opportunity to experience and explore Tasmania's cool climate viticulture in August 2018 with Pipers Brook Vineyard.
Residing at Pipers Brook, Kym enjoys sailing on the Tamar, kayaking on Tasmania’s crystal clear rivers or catching delicious flathead around the northern bays.
Sales
Callum Czyz has been part of the Kreglinger Wine Estates team for over 6 years. A born and bred Tasmanian, his passion for wine has been an ongoing love affair.
With 9 years’ experience in hospitality running some leading Tasmanian restaurants and bars in Hobart, Callum has been exposed to both sales and customer experience management roles, which plays a major part in his position within Kreglinger Wine Estates.
Wineclub
With a background in sales, marketing and cellar door experience, Rachel joined the team in 2017 and is the voice on the other end of the line for all our club members, ensuring they enjoy access to their regular shipments and club benefits. A native Tasmania, Rachel is a passionate advocate for Tasmanian wine, produce, and the tourism industry. She also manages marketing and communications across the Kreglinger Wine Estates portfolio.
